  2. It facilitates mobility for various segments, including students, skilled workers, businesspersons, and young professionals, fostering exchange and collaboration.

Essential Stipulations

  1. Temporary Residence for Indian Students: Graduates seeking professional exposure in Italy post-academic or vocational training can secure temporary residency for up to 12 months. Italy has outlined specific provisions about Professional Training, Extracurricular Internships, and Curricular Internships. These provisions enable Indian students and trainees to acquire experience aligned with Italian skills and training standards.
  2. Reserved Quotas for Workers: The agreement outlines quotas for non-seasonal and seasonal Indian workers, with a reserved quota range over the years 2023-2025 under the existing Flows Decree. Moreover, under the existing Flows Decree, Italy has allocated quotas of 3000, 4000, and 5000 seasonal Indian workers for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025, respectively. The total reserved quota for seasonal workers amounts to 8000.
  3. The Italian government's annual"Flow Decree" sets the maximum number of non-EU citizens who can enter Italy for work and self-employment. The Flows Decree outlines an increase in reserved quotas for both seasonal and non-seasonal workers on the Italian side from 2023 to 2025. Additionally, the Agreement also formalises joint working on promoting mobility pathways between India and Italy through agreements on Youth Mobility and the Facilitation of Recruitment of Indian-qualified professionals in the healthcare and medical services sectors which will be discussed under the Joint Working Group (JWG).
  4. Cooperation between the two parties in the fight against irregular migration has also been formalised through the Agreement.

Beyond the Migration and Mobility Agreement, India and Italy share collaborative efforts in various domains, encompassing trade, culture, education, and technology, fostering a multifaceted partnership between the two nations.
