This comes in the wake of a joint statement issued following the meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her two-day state visit to India. The two nations have pledged to co-lead the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management pillar of the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) and to collaborate on mitigating disaster risks, building resilient infrastructure, and sustaining the shared maritime region. This renewed cooperation signifies a deeper, mutually beneficial relationship aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and regional stability.
