Food Companies miss the major opportunity for Ramzan’s demand due to lockdown.

MUMBAI: Ramzan, is a pure and famous festival and celebrated by Muslims. In Ramzan, Food Companies gets higher demand than the whole year. But this year, a somber Ramzan due to COVID-19, Lockdown market lost their opportunity to get the order of several foods, date May 8, 2020.

Some of the food items which are branded like Falooda mixes, Bombay halwa, Phirni and instant curry masalas, there sales increases during Ramzan. And many food companies get the higher profit in the Ramzan. But this year due to lockdown against COVID-19 pandemic, closed all the businesses for a temporary period and locked all the citizens of our country in their home, these are some reasons which decreases all the profit and also effected on Country’s economies.

Food Companies faced loss and there are some statements by different- different food companies and that are:-

Rasna CMD Piruz Khanbatta said about the Rasna’s drink mixes, during summer season which coincide Ramzan approx. 50% mixes were consumed outdoors. “It made and sold on the streets. That’s certainly a lost opportunity for us”.

Mother’s Recipe (Desai Foods) Executive Director Sanjana Desai said that their company gets good sales from paste categories like ginger-garlic paste, garlic paste, etc. in the domestic markets during Ramzan”. But this year, we lost the opportunity, during Ramzan and Mother’s Recipe (Desai Foods) Executive Director Sanjana Desai also said that even in the International markets, our company gets huge demands for Madras Curry Powder, accompanied by ginger-garlic paste and garlic paste. And every year the demand rises between 50 per cent and 100 per cent during Ramzan.

And now the food companies is planning for the coming opportunities as a festival season, which start from August and extend to Diwali and they hopes that, it will make up their lost opportunities and will gets higher demands.
