Delhi High Court notice RBI and Central Government to Response, on plea seeking suspension of Google Pay for ‘Willful non-compliance’ of directives.

The petition filed by Shubham Kapaley through their Advocates Abhimanyu Mahajan, Sneha Jain and Diksha Thakre, and this petition include proper punitive action against the ‘Google Pay’ app for its “Willful and continued non-compliance of directions of the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) and Centre. It also include to impose a heavy penalty amount of at least 10 times revenue of Google Pay, since the operation start in India for distribution towards COVID-19 Relief fund in India. And it also include to suspend the operations of the respondent in UPI through ‘Google Pay’ till completely follow with interoperability.

After the petition in the Delhi High Court, it has issued a notices to the Central Government and RBI (Reserve Bank of India) and the notice include that the Google India Digital Services Private Limited and Others, on a petition seeking suspension of Google Pay UPI for declared willful disobey the directions.

And a bench of judge, Justice Asha Menon on Thursday, May 14, 2020, asked the RBI and Central Government to file a reply to the petition, filed against the Google Pay. Then the RBI and Central Government, by their behalf the Advocates are Ramesh Babu and Ripu Daman Bhardwaj. And on the behalf of Google India Digital Services Private Limited, the Advocate Akhil Anand, he accepted the notice and want three weeks time to file a response to the petition.

And then the Delhi High Court said that the respondent advocate response to the petition within three weeks with advance copies.

This petition has sought for third party and independent investigation of Google Pay app to check acceptance of every direction which are given by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) and the RBI (Reserve Bank of India).

The petition is based on the guidelines which have to follow by Google Pay but it didn’t and because of this act, many people face the problem to distribution on Relief Fund in India.
