The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (CPA) is an Act that accommodates security of interests of consumers and as such makes arrangements for the foundation of consumer councils and different authorities that help in settlement of consumer questions and matters associated therewith.

Remedies under the CPA

According to given facts and conditions, the redressal forums may arrange for at least one of the accompanying relief(s):

A discount of the cost paid; 

Grant of compensation for the loss or injury endured; 

Withdrawal of the risky products from being offered available to be purchased;
